It's the most wonderful time of the year

Usually, this song title refers to the Christmas period. However, I'm using it for Autumn, because for me, this is the best time of the year. I enjoyed summer whilst it lasted (and we had a surprisingly good summer here in Ireland) but personally I'm glad that the seasons are changing. Autumn brings...

Darker evenings, perfect for sparklers and the occasional campfire.

Crisp mornings with fresh, misty air and cobwebs speckled with dew.

Crunchy golden leaves and shiny chestnuts.

Warm knitted jumpers and soft leather boots.

Nail polish in shade of plum, teal and grey.

Stuffed squashes for a cold evening.

Plump blackberries to make into jam.

Apples for pies.

Crumbles.

Steaming hot soups.

Hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows. (Though to be honest, this could be enjoyed at any time of the year!)

Wood fires and patchwork blankets.

These are just a few of the things I love about this season! How about you; what's your favourite season and why? Let me know below!

  1. Summer has to be my favourite season. Mostly because when it's warm you can spend loads more time outside and the days are longer! Saying that, you have picked out some lovely autumnal gems :)
